Some basic questions

Recommended Posts

I got two questions:

1> The unpaid version of MBAM is considered a "passive scanner" and should NOT conflict in anyway with Windows

Defender, right?

2> When doing any scans with the basic MBAM, does Windows Defender interfere with operations?

Thanks for answers in advance.

PS: I did add exclusions to my anti-virus (Avast! 5 Free) and firewall (PC Tools Firewall Plus). I'm also running Windows 7 x64.

Hi -

(1) In general that is correct - It can depend on some other installed programs , but not usually with Defender -

(2) As above - Defender is not affected in 99% of all cases - Again it may depend on other installed programs -

The program is designed to work with all basic Windows programs - Defender is installed by default on your Win7 -

Any other questions please always ask and we will try to give the best answer available -

Thank You -
