HKP Posted August 9, 2010 ID:298518 Share Posted August 9, 2010 Hi. When I searched the files and folders through the search command, it told me there were six files of desktop.ini in my laptop. I have run avast scan, housecall's scan,ad aware's and even malwarebytes. None of it has picked it but it still shows there How is it possible and please advice me what to do. Thanks. Firefox Posted August 9, 2010 ID:298523 Share Posted August 9, 2010 desktop.ini file is a windows file and is normal, it is not a malware file.not saying that it could be used as a malicious file though, but in my C: Drive when I search for it I have found 73 for example.If you have scanned with all the scanners you listed, then more than likely your system is clean.
