OS: Windows xp

CPU: Dell inspiron E1505 labtop

Ok here is the deal. My cpu got infested gave me a blue screen and would not even load windows. I sent it to the shop and it got cleaned and i get it back today and now i still have the redirect issues. The only other thing on the network is my ps3 and that has seemed to be infected as well (even though no one believes it is possible; like im too stupid to realize what it is i clicked) i have tried to use malwearbytes but it refuses to update i get the error MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12007 , 0, winhttpsendrequest). I have run scans with super anti spyware (free), eset online antivirus symantac antivirus full version 10.1.7.7000 spybot search an destroy; i have high jack this downloaded but i wont dare use it without guidance and finally ccleaner. A couple programs picked up small things but nothing that fixes any of my main problems with redirect virus or malwarebytes not being able to update. i tried the step outlined here( http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573 ) and at the point where i use gmer while it is working i get a blue screen and the computer resets. im beat any help would be highly appreciated because i know this is a subject being beaten to death at this time. i put the logs i could manage to get in this post

The process of cleaning your system may take some time, so please be patient.
Follow my instructions step by step if there is a problem somewhere, stop and tell me.
Stay with the thread until I tell you that your system is clean. Missing symptoms does not mean that everything is okay.

Do not install or uninstall any software or hardware, while work on.
Keep me informed about any changes.

Step 1

I see you are running Teatimer.

I suggest you to disable it because it can interfere with the changes you'll make on your system.

When everything is done and your log is clean again, you can enable it again.

If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.

How to disable TeaTimer <== click me for instructions.

After you disabled Teatimer, download ResetTeaTimer.exe to your desktop.

Then run ResetTeaTimer.exe.

This will only take a few seconds.

Step 2

Please download and install this one:

http://data.mbamupdates.com/tools/mbam-rules.exe

Step 3

Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Go to "Scanner" tab and select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

hey thanks for the help, i have seemed to run into a problem when dealing with the reset tea timer. Whenever i go to turn it on it tells me that the spybot tea timer need to be closed first. I followed the steps before and even checked to see if the changes stuck. While following the directions for making teatimer turn off the onlything that was not as described was that it did not ask me to verify changes made.

Ok i downloaded it but it is not showing up on my cpu. I checked the program file and desktop i found a folder for it but there was nothing in it. the setup seemed to go alittle too fast so i rebooted and got the same thing. It says it is installed but i dont have it anywhere

Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Go to "Update" tab and select "Check for Updates". If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Go to "Scanner" tab and select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Please do the following to see if it resolves the issue.

Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and other security software while installing and running.

Windows XP:

Click on Start and select Control Panel
Open Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Restart your computer very important
Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
- Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
- Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or post to ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please check for updates and then go to the Settings tab then on the Scanner Settings and disable the Heuristics.Shuriken feature and try the scan again and let me know if you're still having issues.
