Broken Digital Signature

Hello,

I ran a full AVG 9.0 (free) scan and it showed "The file is signed with a broken digital signature issued by: Microsoft Corporation" The file is as following;

C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\eRecovery\autorrun\APP\COMAKER\WMF Dist.exe. I have had this for sometime, and only recently decided to run a full scan as i have been encountering some unusual email problems, and computer shutting itself down. I hope this is the right forum, as i am not sure if it is a virus. I ran MBAM full scan, and nothing came up. Today i am not encountering any problems. I ran a chkdsk, and nothing showed up. I also looked on websites, but rather thought that i would be more well advised by posting here. Any help/directions would be so much appreciated. Thank you ahead of time for your attention to this matter. I am running Acer, Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2, Model Aspire T180, Processor AMD Athlon, 64X2 Dual Core Processor 3600 +2.0GHZ. Memory (RAM) 1.00 GB, System type-32bit. I have Windows Explore 8 Browser. My computer is three years old,

It looks like it's part of Acer's software that came with your computer. Looks to be part of some sort of recovery system they use. I don't have a lot of experience with Acer's software though, so I can't guarantee that this will fix it, but you may be able to download an updated version of that software from Acer, uninstall the old version, and then install the new version.
