tjisser Posted August 2, 2010 ID:294491 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Every time I log on to my computer - Windows 7 Dell with Malwarebytes Full Version installed - I get numerous IP Blocks with a message that says Malwarebytes has blocked access to a potentially malicious website. I have set my firewall to request prior to allowing web access but nothing shows when these warnings appear. The log shows just today:17:47:50 Lisa & Tom IP-BLOCK 216.34.131.13517:49:27 Lisa & Tom IP-BLOCK 216.34.131.13517:49:27 Lisa & Tom IP-BLOCK 216.34.131.13517:49:59 Lisa & Tom IP-BLOCK 216.34.131.135and about 15 more attempts. Something has got to be trying to access the web w/o my permission. Help!!
noknojon Posted August 2, 2010 ID:294508 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Welcome and do not panic -This is a normal function of the IP blocking Module - Please read Section G of the FAQ area -There is a function that describes 2 things - First if you use uTorrent type sites then you leave your files open to others to inspect -Secondly you can select to "silently block" these items - Please read the item first -EDIT - A brief description of the IP you supplied -216.34.131.135Chat & Dating
tjisser Posted August 2, 2010 Author ID:294516 Share Posted August 2, 2010 I am concerned because I do not know what program is trying to contact a website from my computer. When this happened I was not trying to access anything or even in a browser. I have told my firewall - CA Associates - not to allow any access to the web w/o asking me, yet this application continues to be able to attempt access w/o my approval or even being asked by my firewall.
