Error 732 and other issues

Recommended Posts

Hello... I recently battled with Antivir Pro (whatever, malware or virus?). While I managed to remove the bug (I think) using Spyware Doctor because my Malwarebytes' program (Pro version) did not catch it, now I have a trial version of Spyware Doctor containing the bug (in quarratine, I am assuming) and it is now wanting me to buy the program in order to completely remove the malware which I do not want to do. Can I just uninstall the program? Or, will that unleash the malware again?

Also, my guess as to why I got this nasty pest in the first place is because my Malwarebytes' program has not and can not update (error 732)... is this true? It's hard to trust any programs even if you pay for them! No offense intended. Anyway, I use Firefox and XP, I know I need to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Malwarebytes'.... at what point will I put in my registration number? And will I need the Key also? If I can get all this accomplished... can I uninstall Spyware Doctor without any issues? I also use AVG (free version)... do I need to do anything with this program while I am fiddling with the other programs?

Thanks, in advance... I've learned a lot over the past day or so reading the post here.... so far, I've saved myself $300, not having to go to Data Doctors (what a rip off... sorry to offend anyone!)

Hello Suze and :P

To un/re-install Mbam in Wondows XP

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

o Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version

o Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

If this does not resolve your issue then I suggest letting one of the Experts have a look at it to start the cleaning process. It is a FREE service
