Malwares won't start up

I scanned my computer yesterday using Malwarebytes and no infections were found. I closed it up and decided to open it up again and it would not open up. Instead, I received this message saying

An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team.

MBAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0,5)

How can I possibly fix this?

HI -

As you do not list your operating sysyem , Please select yours and follow the directions

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version only -

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Hi Again -

Many of these reasons are still unknown - The basic program (or part of it) can run into a conflict with an Antivirus or similar program -

That is one reason why we list exclusions to add to some A/V programs if we know they do conflict -

Also you May have had an infection recently that (although now removed) caused a change in some registry items, and MBAM may be one of them -

This method (to remove and use our cleaner then reinstall) seems to reset the program back on its original pathway -

Also many infections target programs similar to this as the Rogue writers know we can defeat them in the end -
