Terminate all browsers

Recommended Posts

There is an option to terminate Internet Explorer during threat removal, but no option for terminating other browsers. Why only internet explorer? I think it should terminate all web browsers as there are plenty of people who don't use IE.

If there's a reason for only picking IE, what is it?

Hello jpv41193 and Welcome

If there's a reason for only picking IE, what is it?

Simply because the Windows operating system works off of Internet Explorer. Most software's still update through IE. a few use FF, but not very many.

Any further questions, feel free to ask and someone will assist you :)

Ahh, alright... but wouldn't it be better just to terminate all web browsers anyway? Some malware could get around termination by using an alternate browser (if one is present) and since a lot of people either use something other than IE or use multiple browsers it would only make sense.

Malware is attacking the Windows operating system via whichever browser was being used which in turn still uses IE(Windows OS) as it's main channel of updating and Works. The other browsers can be simply uninstalled/reinstalled. Doing that with IE is a whole different ballgame. Besides there is a switch for cutting off the wireless connection and/or unplug the ethernet cable, same difference. No connection, no internet, terminated :)
