Auto Update and Auto Scan

Recommended Posts

I have the Protection Module on but the automatic updates and autoscan are not operational for me. Any ideas? Both items are checked with 1AM and 2Am times selected.

Thanks,

Heavus

Are you up and awake at that time to see that it's not updating and scanning? What is the system it's installed on? What version of MBAM?

Jean,

It was 1.24 version but now 1.25. I know it is not updating because the version was 105X or so and the current version was 107X last night. I have changed the times to this evening and I will watch it to see if it is still a problem.

Thanks,

MH

Jean,

OK, I set the MBAM service to interact with the desktop and the update ran. I guess the default is unchecked which would make sence since it was run as a non subscription app first. I saw it flash across the screen. I have now set the scan to run next at 9PM and will post the results here.

Thanks,

MH

From the way I understand MBAM is that if it does not find anything to report on then it is basically silent.

If you run a manual scan then there is a Log entry indicating the date and time and results of the scan will be stored.

I tried a scheduled scan at 9:00am and MBAM did run a Quiet scan and did log a successful run.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.25

Database version: 1076

Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3

9:02:29 AM 8/22/2008

mbam-log-08-22-2008 (09-02-29).txt

Scan type: Quick Scan

Objects scanned: 35965

Time elapsed: 2 minute(s), 17 second(s)

Memory Processes Infected: 0

Memory Modules Infected: 0

Registry Keys Infected: 0

Registry Values Infected: 0

Registry Data Items Infected: 0

Folders Infected: 0

Therefore MBAM is working as designed.

Thanks for the post. My scan did not run but there was a Macafee scan running not sure if that made any diff, set another at 9Am my time to see what happens.

Thanks for the input.

As YoKenny said the scan runs silent and doesn't show a log, so it may update and scan and you won't know unless you check logs. You haven't given the system info asked for either.

There is a problem with the service on some machines and it is due to be fixed in 2 weeks max.
