antivirusgt

Recommended Posts

hi there,

i have a laptop running windows xp infected with antivirusgt. i searched for all instances of AVGT and 'antivirusgt' from the computer and the registry and deleted them. i copied malwarebytes-setup.exe from another computer and ran a quick scan. this found some infections and deleted them.

then tried to run full scan, but the computer froze.

i tried a quick scan again - which found no infections; then another one, that did, and another one that didn't; i also tried the full scan again which froze.

mcaffee updated successfully but froze in the middle of the scan too.

the virus became stronger now. now it won't let me start malwarebytes (also not when i change the name), it won't let me run msconfig or regedit which it previously did, and it won't let me download dos or any of the other programs mentioned in 'i'm infected'.

please help - i don't know what else to do.

thanks

moavit
