Virus Issues

Recommended Posts

I have removed a virus from a PC for a friend of mine, and we got everything working again, but malwarebytes keeps finding this:

Local Settings\Temp\IXP000.TMP\aim.exe

its in every user profile on the PC and says it will remove on reboot, yet it keeps coming back up. I've searched for the file and can't seem to find it in explorer any where. MRT scan reveals no infections, avg finds nothing...combofix doesn't find anything either....any pointers?

Please, first follow any directions from AdvancedSetup given above -

Description:The aim.exe is partially associated with the application AOL Instant Messenger which can be activated. The aim.exe is an operational file that commonly functions as an application launcher of the AOL Instant Messenger.

If you have AOL files on your system this is not uncommon , also it is not a known infection -

If you do not use AOL then visit Ra Products and use the PC DeCrapifier listed there - Many systems have it as a 'basic' installation program that is not required -

Thank You -
