If it is still slaved then you can type in START - RUN or on Vista/Win7 the search bar type in diskmgmt.msc and use the Disk Management tool and delete the partition.

Then when you go to install Windows 7 it will show a blank disk that it can use and it will take care of the rest. You can do it during the install too if you pay attention and tell Windows 7 to remove the partitions and then use the disk it will do it.
