I just installed

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.24

Database version: 1053

Windows 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 (Vista SP1 Home Premium)

and just after starting the scan, I get the Error Code 772 (0,6) message. If I say "ok" it continues on, but the rest of the message says "An Error occured. Please report the following code..."

I tried searching on 772 but I guess that doesn't work in this forum because it is too short.

Can anyone help?

What happens when you restart your computer and run the scan again?

Well, that seems to have fixed it. Not sure why.

Am I supposed to "run as administrator" with elevated priviledges with Vista? I assume I am.

The only other oddity, is that the Vista Windows Defender always pops up asking for my approval of:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

as a driver/service, which I assume is ok?

Some awkward process was running that caused this problem. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will automatically ask for elevated privileges. And yes, that is our driver.

Thanks for the quick responses!

Just FYI, Malwarebytes really helped out and fixed a problem pc with "Antivirus xp 2008" problem!

MBAM has my vote. :D
