running from zip drive

hello I have installed Mbam on a zip drive and updated database during install. Does this update stay with the zip drive?

The update will stay in the path that was used when the product was installed.

If you installed it to a zip drive it should stay there, but you will not be able to use that zip drive to try and use it on another computer though....

How is the best way to move database. i need to run from zip on infected pc.

copy the update (rules) into infected pc mbam app data?

Malwarebyes is not designed to be run from a zip disk, memory (flash drive) stick, our CD Rom.

However you can copy the install file to one of the above mentioned devices along with the rules file to use it to install it on the infected computer. Once installed you can copy the latest rules file by following the instructions below.....

Manual Update of Definition Database

If you cannot update the database to the latest version within the MBAM window, you may follow the instructions below and update it manually:

ISSUE: I need to get the latest database onto a computer that cannot access the Internet.

SOLUTION: You can manually copy the database from a working computer using a flash drive or CD onto the infected PC. Our database file is stored in the following locations.

• Windows XP and 2000
  
• C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  
• Windows Vista and Windows 7:
  
• C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
