How long does a full scan take?

Recommended Posts

Hello Motorhead,

Please ignore what vvxifeng16 said as it is a SPAMMER :)

It depends on various factors. But if you are going to deal with the active malware, then it is suggested to use the quick scan mode first, as it deals with nearly all the parts that malware stays, and it is quick. Afterwards, you may want to use antivirus scanner(s) (and maybe a full scan) to dig the remaining ones...

Maybe you will be in the half way while I post this one :)

Hope you can clean the malware with MBAM :)

PS Please use the "ADDREPLY" t_reply.gif button at bottom of forum window instead of other ones when you start replying. :)

Edit - the spammer is banned, so just ignore the sentence :)

Hi -

Just to add to gtyhfy - A full scan can take 45 mins to 1.5 hours - This will depend on the computer , Malwarebytes updates , any infections , tempory internet files , and also if you defrag your system on a regular basis -

I also do a Disk Cleanup prior to a full scan to remove excess junk files and run CCleaner -

Do you also have an Antivirus program to run on that machine - This can help remove some infections (not Windows Security though) -

Thank You -

EDIT - Also ignore vvxifeng16 as stated above
