MBAM won't kill Desktop Security 2010

Firstly I'm new here and I'm no computer expert so please bear with me...

My PC has recently been infected with Desktop Security 2010. After doing some research on the web I installed rkill and MBAM. After running both I restarted my PC and Desktop Security 2010 was still there.

After doing some more research I read that the full version of MBAM may be needed so I registered and purchased that.

I have since run rkill followed by MBAM approx 10 times and Desktop Security 2010 is still on my PC!!!

At the conclusion of each scan it says that all infections have been removed and then re-starts my PC. However, upon restarting, Desktop Security 2010 is still there!!!

Can someone please help with this as I read that MBAM would remove Desktop Security 2010.
