Help: Infected Antimalware Doctor? Lingering Files

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First off, I appreciate anyone's assistance.

I believe I initially was infected with this Antimalware Doctor thing. I was able to get rid of the nag screens and all, but some files are still lingering in my <user><local settings><temp> directory.

I've tried a few things to rid my computer permanently of these files, but so far no luck. I ran (and keep running) rkill.com to get rid of these files, and used Malawarebytes and the online scanner (always mentioned, though I forget the name).

Some of the files appearing in this directory are, "win.exe", "install.exe", "debug.exe", "cmd.exe" "spoolsv.exe", and "skaioejiesfjoee.tmp". I believe I have gotten rid of all registry entries that have to do with this malware, but these files (and others) keep appearing in my /temp directory.

I've search for some solutions and tried many things, and now I'm lost on what to do next.

Thanks for your help,

Alan

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post the one that is not minimized.

Thanks for your response. I was able to rid my computer of the last vestiges of this malware by deleting the file "v4vrz.dll" from the /windows/system32 directory. It was this file that was spawning the files in my /temp direcory.
