asklots and updating error

just need some help ... thank you in advance ,,, I am not super computer literate

I tried to update my Malewarebytes and it wont let me gives me a message

MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12007, 0 , WinhttpSendRequest)

i am running version 4052

on a laptop compaq

windows Vista

from the best i can tell i got infected with this browser that tries to redirect me to asklots.com and others

unless i type the web address direct in the browser it wont go there ... any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated
