IP Protection

Recommended Posts

I've tried searching for the answer but I guess the forum has way too much info to sift through. I'm thinking about installing MBAM again and was wondering if one can just have the IP protection running as opposed to real time and Ip Protection? I assume IP Protection is part of the real time which would also have to be enabled but I don't know for sure

Hello and :)

The answer would be yes! To do this, purchase the MalwareBytes Pro, register it, and then enable your protection by clicking the "Protection" tab and then checking the box. After you have done that, right click MBAM on the system tray (bottom right corner) and put a check mark on what you want. Enable Protection means mainly realtime scanning and ip blocking isnt part of that. If you just want IP blocking then uncheck the "Enable Protection" and make sure theres a check mark on "Website Blocking" I would reccomend to have both of them on, but if you just want to view certain websites that are blocked, go to the system tray again and make your cursor hover over"Add to Ignore List" and select the ip. Hope this helps! ;)

You can also review the information here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...mp;#entry162100

OK, thanks for the info and thanks to the other user who replied. Question, can you give me a link to a web site that IP Protection will block? I'm sure it triggers some sort of event notification and I need to set Malware Defender on learning mode to learn this.

Wait, how does MBAM block the ip... isnt http://malwarebytes.org/ and http://iptest.malwarebytes.org/ use the same ip?!?!

The listed area is for checking if you can get a block - You may already have a program to block this area -

If you are able to reach this page it means that IP protection is disabled on your machine.

This is written on the blocked page - iptest is the change in the URL of the 2 areas (test site / normal site) -

As I said "it is an internal site of ours" just used to test if your program blocking is working -

You may have some other blockers working also -

@ cat7even - This is just a basic test site of ours -
