Re-enable internet access after scan

Ok what happened was my mom's computer got the AV suite thing on it, and I heard that this was a good program to use to get rid of it, so I loaded it on there, scanned it, and removed everything that came up.

The problem was that I think it detected her Weatherbug program in the process, and I guess the action it took was to block its internet access. I know that Weatherbug is generally considered to be bad, but she uses it to publish data from our backyard weather station.

I have added the program as an exception to everything I can find (firewall, antivirus, etc.) but something is still preventing it from accessing the internet.

Malwarebytes is no longer installed on the computer, I took it off after it got rid of the virus.

So what do I do to fix this? Any additional info you need?

I just discovered that internet explorer is not getting a connection, which is probably what is causing the other problem.

Never mind, after messing with some settings in IE I fixed the problem.
