AV Security with pop up porno! HELP!

Recommended Posts

Following was a closed thread. It is exactly what my computer is doing. Any what is up with the porno stuff? Why? Kids in the family room! Chased them out.

I can't get anything to go. Hard running back and forth across the room to each computer. I got confused.

Baby steps in Layman terms. I have 1 jump drive. I think I need to get to that safe mode. Step one. I guess.

Anything else that can help?

Thanks,

LucyAK

"Hello,

I have recently been infected with the AV security suite "virus". My brother downloaded some sort of warcraft III add-on from a website with questionable security.

I have looked through some of the other posts of people having this same issue, and I can't seem to find a resolution for my particular case. I am unable to access any internet pages, as well as being unable to launch the majority of applications on my computer without getting the message "Application cannot be executed. The file "filename.exe" is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" If i click yes, it just simply takes me to the website to buy their product. My computer is also attempting to open pornographic internet pages as well as sexually related pages, without me even as much as being on it. I am having to post this from a friends computer, due to mine being completely unusable.

Thank you for your time -

Ryan "

Okay, so I pushed "here", takes me to the bleepcomputer website and wanted me to download the Stopzilla program. I can't get there from the infected computer. So, I loaded Stopzilla on the jump drive and tried to load on the infected computer. I had to go through the "run" thing then browse and then I could load it on the computer. The computer won't let me open anything. Not the control panel or the Windows Explorer, nothing. Just all the fake windows popping up.

So, now what? That computer is frozen. Just all the stupid pop ups. I also disconnected the internet cable from the box, I don't know if someone is trying to read into my computer.

Help!

Okay, I ended up running that stop zilla on my computer, supposedly it detected some virus on my good computer, and then it won't remove it unless I buy the software.

So, are you here just to push products or to truely help? I don't get it!

Okay, on that website you wanted me to start from, I am an idiot. I have to scroll down, a bunch and find the start of the instructions. I am trying to make my way through that right now. I just figured out how to make the computer go on safe mode. So, we will see how it goes. Thanks.

Hi,

Okay, I never could get the rkill.com thing to go. I went to the webpage and it just had a huge list of software to select from, no help. But the Malwarebytes was able to run on Safe Mode, it went according to the instructions from there.

Wow! What a mess.

Thanks so much for your patience and time. Now, I have to get this Zilla thing off my computer.

Have a great day!

LucyAK

While in Safe Mode, run also the following:

-----

Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:

[*]Save it to your desktop.

[*]Double click on the otlDesktopIcon.png icon on your desktop.

[*]Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.

[*]Push the runscanbutton.png button.

[*]Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:

  • OTListIt.txt <-- Will be opened
  • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized

Hi,

Okay, I need to copy that file over to the other computer and do that. Sunday I should be able to.

Thanks so much! Do you think Malware should be loaded on that computer? It is an oldie, but a goodie, and my husband refuses to get rid of it.

Have a great weekend.

You still cannot access the internet on the other computer?

Since MBAM is a free program, I recommend it to be installed yes. It can't hurt to scan once a week with it and if you were to have an infection, its very handy if it is already installed.

Please post back with the OTL logs. If you encounter any trouble, just let me know. :)
