esentutl64.exe

Recommended Posts

My computer is infected with the "Defense Center" and "AVSuite" viruses. These evidently got through my McAfee antivirus protection. I have done some research and found that Malwarbytes is an effective way to get rid of these viruses. However, when I try to run the program, I get the following message. "esentutl64.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovenience." I called McAfee and they were no help at all. I contacted Norton and one of there technicians seemed to think that the virus has damaged my operating system and that this error message stems from the computers inability to run any programs. To fix this, I was quoted a price of $269.......far too much for me to swallow. I would buy malwarebytes in a heartbeat if I was sure that I would be able to run the program. But if the guy from Norton knows what he is talking about, I will be unable to run the program at this point. Is anyone here framiliar with this message or know how I would be able to run programs at this point? I am currently operating in "safe mode with networking" and I do have my operating system CD. When I tried to install the operating system again, the same message appeared. I am at my wits end. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Conner

Hello Conner and :D

I suggest letting one of the Experts have a look at it to start the cleaning process

As we don't work on Malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum as it is for issues with the program itself, only in the Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs section

Please read and follow the Directions Here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW Topic Here

One of the Expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

Also, when replying, please use the ADDREPLYccEuD.jpg button located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or HERE

Thanks :P

Just to add to what Wide Glide said above.....

Malwarebytes is free for home users. You don't have to purchase it just to clean your computer. The Free version is a full functioning software package and can help you clean your infections. Only thing is you will have to do manual updates and scans. Buying the Full version will give you the ability to schedule updates and scans, as will as protect you from malicious websites by using its built in IP Webblocker protection.

Oh another thing, if you are patient and let the experts help you, that help is also provide for the great price of FREE!
