Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

Hi,

I'm sorry I am new to this forum. I have found many solutions to several problems over the years on these forums. One problem I have recently came across I can not find the solution to on any forum . I was hoping someone here has been through this and can help me get a resolution without a reformat. I have tried several different virus scanners, malware removers ect.... which my infection appears to be removed. But... my problem I have, which occurs when I start the computer up is:

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

(I'm feeling the resolution may be in changing some values in regedit but i would prefer a more... professional opinion before I jump in and start changing things)
