Curiosity Question Re Malwarebytes .Org Domain Name

I know that there are periodic changes in the way domain names are made, to include the creation of new ones, and I'm wondering why Malwarebytes is an .org instead of .com.

I for one am not sure why they did that, but if you type it with .com it will redirect you to the .org site....
