Automatic Updates Set-Up

I have a paid version of MBAM 1.46, but for various reasons have always chosen to use it only as an on-demand scanner only, after a manual update, in XP SP3.

After seeing recent complaints here and elsewhere about auto-updates not working, I enabled real-time protection, and was surprised to see my definitions also did not auto-update, even though they were apparently configured to do so hourly (Protection tab>Scheduler>Update tab).

The reason was my failure to click the "Add" button at the bottom left in this tab, so that "Update" appeared in the upper Scheduler pane, as illustrated here: http://www.sevenforums.com/819810-post8.html

I post this only because this was not an obvious solution to me, or to others, and there is nothing in the meagre Help Files that I could find that gives adequate instructions on how to auto-update properly.
