Windows cannot boot after MBAM quarantine

Hi Folks,

Hope I am posting in the correct forum, else please direct me and I will post in the correct one.

I ran MBAM on my home desktop yesterday and it found several infected objects. I quarantined all the infected objects (the list was too huge to browse through, but it had some System32 entries). After the quanrantine, I restarted my machine and it failed to boot with the message saying -

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

Winnt_root\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:

Please re-install a copy of the above file.

Any help on this? The computer was running Windows XP Home Edition.

Thanks

Soumak
