Hi I recently got a virus called AV suite. I am currently running Vista Basic, norton antivirus, malware, and Adaware. Well none of them caught this thing! Now I have run adaware, Malware quick scan and neither of them is finding anything. While running the full scan, it runs for about 7 hours, and then says it just unexpectedly stopped working?

Hi -

How do/did you know you have AV Suite if no programs informed you of the problem ?? Was Malwarebytes Fully updated - Current is Version 4226 -

Do you want help to fix the "running time" with Malwarebytes ?? Have you had any error messages or it just will not Full Scan ??

You can download a clean fresh copy of the program by following these directions

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's Here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Thank You - :welcome:

I was informed of the virus because it popped up and wouldnt let me do anything without popping up an additional window with a link to AV suite. I then downloaded RKill to stop it. I then downloaded the latest version 1.46, and installed it (but did not uninstall the previous version). If I restart the computer than AV takes over again. I do not get an error message, it just says malewarebytes has encountered a problem and needs to close, it is typically around the 7 hours mark, and it hasnt found any infections yet.
