This morning, when starting up the Dell Mini, I got an IP block for 78.159.112.215.

Information according to WHOIS :

IP Location: Germany Germany Berlin Netdirekt E.k

Resolve Host: 78-159-112-215.internetserviceteam.com

IP Address: 78.159.112.215 [Whois] [Reverse-Ip] [Ping] [DNS Lookup] [Traceroute]

OrgName: RIPE Network Coordination Centre

OrgID: RIPE

Address: P.O. Box 10096

City: Amsterdam

StateProv:

PostalCode: 1001EB

Country: NL

As this IP is situated in Germany, could this be linked to Avira (also situated in Germany) trying to update? Manually updating Avira went without any problems.

I have read that other IPs from the 78.159.* range are blocked as well.

Thank you very much for looking into this.

Thank you very much Exile. You've confirmed my thoughts but it's really odd as I (still) get this pop up when the Dell mini is starting up and, apart from Avira on the mini and Eset Nod on the Dell Inspiron, my start up programs are the same (at least that's what I think).

Is there a way to find out to which program this IP might be linked?

Follow up : I just found out I have Skype installed at the Dell Mini (I haven't used this yet as I don't have an account). Apparently this IP seems to be related to Skype, so I removed it from the start up list (using Scotty) and no more IP blocks so far ;) .
