Odd place to post this problem - It should have been in PC Help - Is this in all programs or only a few ??

Download Speed Fan (Free) and check if your temperatures are very high - It links directly to your system -

This program will also show CPU usage as it is running (should show 1-5% at idle) - Mine is showing 0-3% while on line at idle -

Thank You -

Hi -

You may need to clean the fan and clean the inside of the computer if it is any where near a dusty area -

Some laptops will heat up if they are used in an enclosed bedroom or even in enclosed living areas also -

Run a Disk Check on your C: drive in Windows Vista or Windws 7:

  • Click the Start button and select Computer
  • Right-click on C: and select Properties
  • Click on the Tools tab
  • Under Error-checking click the Check Now... button and click Continue at the User Account Control prompt
  • Mark the box next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
  • When the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and restart your computer
  • Once your computer restarts it will check the drive, don't press any keys so that it is allowed to do the check

Or for XP - Copy and Paste this code into Start > Run Box - They will do the same thing -

CMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T 30

Thank You -
