Anti-Malware closing itself when scan ends

Recommended Posts

Hey

I just installed Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and everything went fine, but I have a problem when I try to scan.

The scan go from 0 to 100% without problem and detect some malwares (23 in quickscan), then display a message saying something like "Scan was sucessful, click "show results" to display all infected objects".

But when I click "OK" on this message, the program immediately close/dissapear, and thus nothing is cleaned.

I have Kaspersky, but I tried putting mbam.exe, mbamgui.exe and mbamservice.exe in trusted zone. I also tried disabling kaspersky, and also completely quitting it. The problem didn't change.

I checked my log folder and the sucessful scans didnt produce any log.

I tried stopping the scan before it's end, with different results :

- If I end the scan before any malware is detected, the program doesn't crash.

- If I end the scan as soon as 1 malware is detected, or after that, it gives me a "Scan aborted. Click "show results" to display all infected objects", and as soon as I click OK, it crashs.

I have no other antivirus or firewall running.

What could cause the program to crash/exit at that point ?

Hello DiNo29, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org :)

I don't think Kaspersky has anything to do with this issue here. It's always good to add exclusions to your AV though for Malwarebytes though, especially if they are running in realtime together.

Unfortunately it seems as though the malware on your system is preventing you from seeing the results of the scan and therefore getting cleaned.

Please read the following so that someone can assist you with cleaning your system:

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 72 hours/3 days or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 72 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button t_reply.gif located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

Thank you :)
