Does "recover if missed" work for anyone running XP Home SP3?

Recommended Posts

There have been several threads about this new feature (a feature very common to numerous A-V programs). My PC is not on 24/7 thus "recover if missed" is a valuable option. That is, if it ever worked. Has not for me, neither out of hibernation nor from a cold start.

I have opened a case with Malwarebytes' tech support but they have no answer for me. So I wonder is it working for anyone with my O/S, and did you have to do anythng special to make it work?

Thanks,

Fred E.

Hi Fred E -

It will work , but the function will not work if you only have your system online for 10 mins or even 30 mins -

It will need at least 1 hour on line to recognise that the update has not been done and then it will perform its function -

The other quick option is a manual update that will only take (on average) maximun 1 min -

Thank You - :)

Thanks for sharing your experience, which suggests that this new feature was not well designed or implemented (or documented). BTW it's not just the update I wish would run automatically, it's also the quick scan (neither one runs). Yes you can do this manually, but then why have the "recover if missed" option? Am I missing something?

Hi Again -

It is most likely in the presentation of 'documentation' that these options are not understood -

I assume you have read the details of setting the scheduler from the FAQ area (above this section of the forum) -

If not the link is http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=45177 this one -

Many people have yet to fully understand these features as we do not have it fully documented here -

Yes I do agree there needs to be a bit more 'documentation' with the display pictures and I have asked for these features to be more easily explained -

Thank You - :)
