AV Security Suite - Cleaned - Now Redirects

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Well that didn't work. In fact I had to do a system restore. I received error messages from the beginning. As soon as I ran Dial-a-fix, I got this error:

Then these are the settings I chose based upon your instruction. There was only one option for IE that I deselected:

Then I received these errors during the run:

After selecting OK, it finished the process. After reboot, I went to the microsoft update from the tools menu and nothing. I had to go to Microsoft.com and go to the update through a link. Then I got this error:

After selecting the first option, it went blank and nothing ever happened. That's when I decided to do a restore to prior running dial-a-fix.

I noticed that I only have one restore point to choose from. I have made multiple restore points in the past, nearly at every stage of "repair" but they are all gone and only the most recent system checkpoint is there. Is there a setting to retain more than one restore point?

Hi,

Okay. This is the failure I get when trying to do the windows update. The first is the initialization, the second is the failure screen and the third photo is the failure report.

Hi Chris,

I'm not concerned about the hardware updates. I don't have any more critical updates to install because I did all of them manually, but I got the same sequence of failures for every download I tried. I only have non-critical windows software and hardware updates left on that list after it searches for updates. I only chose the hardware updates because I didn't want to update to Media Player 11 or install the other software ones.
