Hello Anonymous,

Please answer the question that John asks and ignore the contents here.

Thanks :P

One more question to be asked:

What program says you will have an update?

I don't think that message is about MBAM.

If possible, you may provide a screen shot of that message too.

Edit - delete most of the contents. Thanks John for that information. :P

Hi Anon -(I hope you don't mind if I call you that)

Also thank you for that shot and your response -

That is not a script from Malwarebytes-

1/ Can you access the Icon on the screen for Malwarebytes at all ??

2 / Do you have a normal (free or paid) edition of Malwarebytes installed ??

Please follow these directions in case you do not have the correct program installed -

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version only -

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here

Thank You - :P

EDIT - Can you please tell me your Anti Virus program also -

Please run a Quick Scan when you finish the New download -

Hello Anonymous,

Just to curious to ask:

What actions did you do to get this one (aka what series of keys did you press)?

My first wild guess is you right clicked the (MBAM) setup file and clicked "properties", then you might go to the "digital signature"/ "digital certificate" tab, and you clicked some place and Chrome went to verisign site and downloaded that file.

That is (suppose to be) a digital certificate revocation list from verisign. If that is the case (and download from a trust site/source), it is harmless.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revocation_list

If not, it is still harmless to do what John provided in his latest post. Then scan that file with MBAM and your anti-virus solution (it is still harmless to do so :P).

Please post back if you have further problems. Thanks.

Edit - adding a guess.
