Moving AntiMalware to New Computer

I am replacing a PC, and would like to reinstall Anti-Malware on the new PC. Should I be able to use the same registration info, or do I need to get a new code generated?

Yes, you absolutely can move the license you currently have from your old machine to your new machine. Please note that one license is required per computer.

When you are ready to transfer, please do the following:

• Uninstall Malwarebytes from the old computer
  
• Re-boot if asked (very important)
  
• Please download mbam-clean from here
  Please note that this will clear Malwarebytes from being registered on the machine and will clear any logs as well as any items in quarantine.
  
• Reboot the machine if requested.
  

Malwarebytes will now be uninstalled from the old machine.

Then, please download Malwarebytes onto the new machine and click the "Register" button and copy & paste your ID & Key into the fields and your new machine will be protected.

I had already used the "Add/Remove" in Windows Control Panel to remove the software, before wiping the machine clean. I didn't know that I would have to use mbam-clean to be able to re-register the software on a new machine.

Is there another alternative to move it to my new machine, short of purchasing another copy, or am I out of luck?

Just to emphasis one point: one MBAM license is required per computer.

So, if you have wiped the old machine, and use the license key in your new machine only, then it is ok.

I feel sort of stupid. I just realized that I have been trying to use my forum user ID and validation key instead of my software ID and key...

Oh well, if this is the worst thing that happens to me this week...

If you have indeed wiped your computer clean (reformatted) then the ID & Key should work just fine on your new computer
