MBAM_ERROR_FILE_SCAN (0,5)

Recommended Posts

Hello there

I get this error "MBAM_ERROR_FILE_SCAN (0,5)" every time i scan my hard drive.

I have tried goggling but alas i find different errors. i am sure i am not the first to have this...

If anyone knows what causes the error or how to fix that would be greatly appreciated.

the scan continues regardless of the error, so that is a bit weird.

thanks in advance for the help

viva MBAM :)

Hello Pokoloko88, :)

Please do the following, use the instructions appropriate to your version of Windows:

Run a Disk Check on your C: drive in Windows XP:

  • Click Start and open My Computer
  • Right-click on C: and select Properties
  • Click on the Tools tab
  • Under Error-checking click the Check Now... button
  • Mark the box next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
  • When the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and restart your computer
  • Once your computer restarts it will check the drive, don't press any keys so that it is allowed to do so

Run a Disk Check on your C: drive in Windows Vista or Windws 7:

  • Click the Start vista-7-start.png button and select Computer
  • Right-click on C: and select Properties
  • Click on the Tools tab
  • Under Error-checking click the Check Now... button and click Continue at the User Account Control prompt
  • Mark the box next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
  • When the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and restart your computer
  • Once your computer restarts it will check the drive, don't press any keys so that it is allowed to do so

If no joy, would you mind telling the operating system and antivirus/internet security plus any firewall you used on the system. In addition, do you think there is any symptoms you suspected you may have malware on the system?

Please let us know how it went.

Thank you :)
