Did I completely clean the system?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm posting to ask for help verifying that I've eliminated all of the malware on my computer. I used Malwarebytes, Norton Internet Security 2010 and Spybot Search and Destroy to remove some malware from my computer but I'm not confident that I've removed everything. The system appears to behave normally however the windows XP login prompt looks slightly "off" because the font is bolded and I'm concerned there is extremely stealthy malware lurking in the background.

I would very much appreciate help from pros to validate that I've cleaned the computer. Thank you very much!

Hi Maurice,

Yes, the system is still the same as it was two weeks ago, because I have not used it since that time. It would be great if I could please get guided help.

Thank you!

Do a fresh run of DDS

Disable any script blocker if your antivirus/antimalware has it.

Then double click dds to run the tool.

DDS will run in a command prompt window and will take 3 to 4 minutes or so.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  • DDS.txt
  • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the following logs in your next reply:

DDS.txt

Copy (always) contents of report. Then Paste into main-body of a reply.
