Malware Uninstalls - Anti Malware?

Hi, i'm new, looking for some help. Not afraid of being flamed on my post but just looking for some help with the kids pc. I have had malware antispy installed forever on there computer as they are constantly downloading spyware, viruses etc. Now i see that its no longer installed and the shortcut can't find the .exe. Freak out on the kids for uninstalling, than download, update, scan, 10 hits in 5 seconds so i walk away to let it do its nifty job. Kids jump on, i yell get off. Look at pc and now its gone again. Yell at the kids some more for uninstalling it, but wait, they are only 7 and didnt have enough time. Install again, update, scan, after about a minute and 10 infections later the program closes and launching the shortcut shows the exe is missing. So now i'm thinking there is anti malware spyware out there removing the .exe. Where can i go from here?
