Malware Bytes Freezes

I installed free version latest version to check it ou before making the the decision to purchase

I start the program click on quick scan and the program quits it just sits there according to task manager the program is not responding

The following is what I get from W& Maintenance area

What part was confusing I cannot follow those instructions, as it is quick scan that does not work the minute I start it the program quits responding, I have used othe rprograms to check my computer and it is not infected.

My AV is microsoft essentials, MBAM used to scan at one time in the past no longer
