Blue Screen Critical Error

Recommended Posts

Hello-

I've gotten help from your site a few times before. A few months ago I was having problems with my system shutting down. I would get a blue screen that stated a critical error occurred and my system had to shut down. I am starting to have this same problem again. I ran a scan and see no malware. I'm unable to find any topic similar to my issue so far on the site (or my old topic on file). Any suggestions on how to clear this up? Much appreciated. Thanks.

You may try a simple system restore to a time before this started happening again. It may be that simple otherwise I'm no expert and would consult others opinions..

A quick check of your system to make sure all the dust bunnies inside are removed (especially the CPU heatsink/fan) and the inside/outside fans are working and not clogged with dust is always a good start - could be a flaky power supply or loose/cocked connector inside. Re-seat all memory SIMMs/DIMMs and circuit boards. (Needless to say, unplug power after you make sure the fans are working before you mess around with the rest.) Those items I mentioned can be checked without spending money and may fix an intermittent machine. :)

Good hunting..
