How to create website exceptions

Recommended Posts

Anti-Malwarebytes blocks sites such as www.channelsurfing.net. I don't want it to block it and it seems that I have to disable or exit AMB every time I want to visit the site. How can I prevent AMB from blocking this site while leaving the program still running?

Hello ThumperSD, :D

You may refer to the pinned topic Common Issues, Questions, and their Solutions. Alternately, I just copy the section you may need -

  • How can I add an IP so it won't be detected and can access a site I need to?
  • Visit the site and incur an IP block. Then right-click on the Malwarebytes system-tray icon after the block notification appears, and choose Add to Ignore List.

Please ensure that the site is safe if you want to put to the ignore list.

Please post back if you have further questions.

Thank You :D

Thanks for the response. I tried doing that but there is no option for "add to ignore list" in AMB

The option is only available in the red Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware tray icon when you right click on it after a block has occurred, not in the program interface of the scanner. The list of options will look like the following:

Ah got it but the option is greyed out even when I go to the site

Are you getting a notification in your tray that looks like the following when a site is blocked?:

If you aren't, then it's not Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware blocking access to the site. If you are, then after that notification shows up you should be able to right click the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware tray icon and the Add to Ignore List menu should not longer be greyed out, thus allowing you to exclude the blocked site.

  • 7 months later...

1. Right click on Malwarebytes Tray Icon and untick the "Website Blocking"

2. Then open the Malwarebytes main window (by double clicking on Malwarebytes

Tray Icon)

3. Go to "Protection" tab and untick "Stat malicious website blocking when

protection module starts"

Now you can open whatever website!!!
