using malware

Recommended Posts

After the scan is done, I get a pop up saying that the scan is done and I shall press on some button to view the results of the scan. As soon as I click on the "ok" button from the pop up window, Malware Bytes shuts down without recording anything and I have to restart the program and run the scan again. Any suggestions?

Hello M K, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org :P

Is there any sort of an error message or does it just shut down?

Do you have any reason to believe that you are infected?

Hey,

Thanks for your reply, following are the reasons that makes me believe I am infected

1. I get porn sites short cuts on my desktop

2. A popup window appears with time on it that says my system will be shutdown in t- sometime and it does restart

3. Some "Data Protection" software keeps giving me popups every now and tehn tellin me I am being attacked by some IPs and or viruses.

I do not get any error msg, Malwarebytes just closes when I hit OK so I could click on SHOW RESULTS :)

Thanks for the clarification, M K :P

I am sorry to hear that you are infected :) More likely than not, the malware is preventing you from finishing the malware removal process with Malwarebytes. Looks like it lets you finish scanning up until you need to click "show results". :)

Please do the following so that an expert can assist you in clean up:

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read.

After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

Thank you :P
