Keyboard works only in Safe Mode help!

Hijackthis + Malwarebytes recently fixed a malware problem (Security Essentials 2010 ) and now the keyboard only works in Safe Mode.

Keyboard works in normal windows boot up, pressed DELETE and it brought me to BIOS. However once I get to the windows account login screen, the keyboard doesn't work. The num lock light jams (doesn't go on or off despite me pressing it) and I can't type anything. Mouse works fine however...

Sounds like an XP system - Mine also will go to BIOS ifI click Delete on start up -
