All these type of sites are not new per say. There simply trying to show users that they are not as anonymous as one might think even if cookies and other features are disabled or blocked.

They all generate similar content via scripts and then attempt to explain or show you what information they've parsed and what they think it means.

What can one do to pass the test?

Buttons find yourself a shell to live in and you can become protected but then you could choose to live in an the M1 Abrams that might be a bit more comfortable.

I just did this test and it said:

"Within our dataset of several hundred thousand visitors, only one in 283,323 browsers have the same fingerprint as yours.

Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys 18.11 bits of identifying information."

Then I went to the page about defenses against website tracking and it seems I'm doing most of what they suggest already. :)

LOL - There is no test to pass. If you want to remain anonymous then get rid of any network connection to the Internet or any other network and move up into the mountains away from any sources of technology. :)

I'll be the first since Fred Flintstone.:)

@YoKenny1-

I think it's illegal to own a tank. But then again that would be sweet.:)

That shell looks a little tight on me.:)

@Code Hunter-

Huh, thought SeaMonkey only worked for that. Does the IPhone 3.0 setting come standard or do you need to install/setup?

@Tim Feralfox-

Already installed.:)

I guess your car gets good gas mileage but must be wicked on running shoes. :)

One Canadian Winter would convince you that you need more than just snow tires and a big V8 with a massive heater blowing heat into the car just to keep the windows defrosted.

You have to install an extension on Firefox.

It's called User Agent Switcher. Simple to use.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/se...=&advanced=

After installing go to customizations and move button to toolbar.

I know that.:) Haven't used it in a long time, and didn't remember if the Iphone setting was included or not.

"I 'wuz' unique"... :) This shows the importance of using an extension similar to NOSCRIPT in Firefox.. When I enabled JavaScript and reran the test, I had three browser screens of detected info so..

WITH NoScript:

Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 982,855 tested so far.

Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys at least 19.91 bits of identifying information.

The measurements we used to obtain this result are listed below. You can read more about our methodology, statistical results, and some defenses against fingerprinting in this article.

WITHOUT NoScript:

This is what I got (using Mozilla Firefox with No Script temporarily enabled) :

Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 987,407 tested so far.

Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys at least 19.91 bits of identifying information.

(forgot to take a screen shot, sorry).

Turning NS off and on shows just how much info is out there, with it off it didn't even bother to tell me how many bits of info I must send out :) I have no idea what a supercookie test is though, mine was "DOM localStorage: Yes, DOM sessionStorage: Yes, IE userData: No"

That is a pretty interesting site!
