Recommended Posts

Hello, yesterday my computer was infected by antispyware soft. I downloaded malwarebytes.org, installed it, but now when I try to run it I receive Runtime error '0'. When i click "ok" Runtime error '440':automation error then pops up. Any way to get it to work? I need this virus off of my computer...

Thanks!

Hello.

Please disable your antivirus during the installation of the files below.

Please download Visual Basic Runtimes from the link below and install them:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Reboot the system after it's installed.

This should eliminate the problem.

If not, Uninstall our software and reboot the system.

Then reinstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware via the link below (downloads do not differ, registration with your ID & key activate the Pro features):

http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/Mal...re/1186760019/1

Note: Ignore all 'Recommended' or 'Sponsored' software which is prominently displayed, they are ads and we do not have any association with them.

Save the file to your desktop then double-click it to begin installation.

See how the software runs.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but neither of these suggestions fixed the problem. I'm using XP in safe mode by the way, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Why are you scanning in safe mode? No need to do that, is the system infected?

  • 4 months later...

Just a note, i had the same error and simply downloaded and installed the newest version from the website (right over the old version).

I received the error 1 more time during the install, but then it hasn't happened again since (and am able to run the software just fine).
