MBAM on VirusTotal ?

I'm confused about how adding MBAM to Virus Total saves time. I'd have thought the opposite is true. It takes me about 10 seconds to scan a sample and if it's detected (and not a packer) i don't bother uploading it to VT. If i uploaded every sample i download i..........wouldn't. Also at the risk of repeating myself MBAM does not currently detect malware in RAR or Zipped form (amongst others). I don't know what percentage of samples uploaded to VT are compressed but any amount would both distort the results and unfairly and inaccurately reflect MBAM's detection rate .

I feel detection rate and number comparisons are in general somewhat suspect anyway as companies don't catalogue their databases in the same way; they share information to a certain extent but I don't think this validates comparisons by any means.

As far as we know, we're not currently being reviewed for addition to VT, this according to the powers that be.
