A notification popup keeps appearing above Malwarebytes' tray icon with this message: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware successfully blocked access to potentially malicious site 8.5.1.40.

This started happening yesterday, May 1, 2010. When I was updating Malwarebyte this morning, the message appeared even before I started surfing the web. A Goggle search indicates the supposed malicious site is Windows Live Messenger service. How can I stop the annoying Malwarebytes pop-up?

You may try to post it in the False Positive forum if you believe it is a f/p. The staff will explain whether it is a f/p for you.

Please kindly fully read the post Here (and the link provide in that post), and then have it post Here.

Thank you.

Hi watsgoing ON -

There is a patch/repair for Windows Live Messenger HERE - This is a fault with the Messenger service - Select Server 1 or 2 , not the advertising sites -

Download the patch and if the error message pops up again please do this -

How can I add an IP so it won't be detected and can access a site I need to?

Visit the site or wait till the error message pops up again and incur an IP block/notification

Then right-click on the Malwarebytes system-tray icon after the block notification appears, and choose Add to Ignore List.

Thank You -

I use CurrPorts to see what applications are connecting to the Internet

Description

CurrPorts is network monitoring software that displays the list of all currently opened TCP/IP and UDP ports on your local computer. For each port in the list, information about the process that opened the port is also displayed, including the process name, full path of the process, version information of the process (product name, file description, and so on), the time that the process was created, and the user that created it.

No IP blocks here with Windows Live Messenger.

Maybe it's an advertisement?

If it is because of an advertisement in the messenger, I am not getting it because advertisements are blocked for me with my security software.
