alam Posted April 30, 2010 ID:241968 Share Posted April 30, 2010 I have installed Malwarebytes on my PC running Win 7 home edition and hacing Comodo firewall. This problem just started a few days back. When I try to update the database i get the following error---------------------------Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware---------------------------An error occurred. Please report the following error code to the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware support team.Error code: 732 (12002, 0)---------------------------I have tried uninstalling Malwaree, running the cleanup utility which I found from somewhere here and have tried to install Malwarebytes but the problem is still unsolved. I have also read through most of the post and the FAQ before posting this request. This is very frustrating and will appreciate a solution.
noknojon Posted April 30, 2010 ID:241980 Share Posted April 30, 2010 Weccome alam -You may have a very old version installed- Please follow these directions to try and get the latest version -As long as it is NOT due to current live Malware preventing the update then this method may help restore the ability to run updatesAfter each step please try to run the Update again in the MBAM program.STEP 01Backup the Registry:Modifying the Registry can create unforeseen problems, so it always wise to create a backup before doing so.Please download ERUNT from hereERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT) is a free program that allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed.Double click on erunt-setup.exe to Install ERUNT by following the prompts.Use the default install settings but say NO to the portion that asks you to add ERUNT to the Start-Up folder. You can enable this option later if you wish.Start ERUNT either by double clicking on the desktop icon or choosing to start the program at the end of the setup process. Choose a location for the backup. Note: the default location is C:\Windows\ERDNT which is acceptable.Make sure that at least the first two check boxes are selected.Click on OKThen click on YES to create the folder.Note: if it is necessary to restore the registry, open the backup folder and start ERDNT.exeOnce you've completed backing up your Registry, please perform the following fixes until fixed or all methods have been triedOpen Internet Explorer Note: It MUST be Internet Explorer, not Firefox, Opera, Chrome or any other internet browserClick on Tools at the top and select Internet Options Note: If you do not see Tools, press the Alt key on your keyboard and it will show upClick on the Connections tabClick on the LAN settings buttonUnder Automatic configuration make sure that the box next to Automatically detect settings is checked, if it is not, then click the box next to it to check itClick on the OK button to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings windowClick on the OK button to close the Internet Options windowUse this diagram as a guideTry updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware again and if it does not work then please proceed to Step 02STEP 02Disable Internet Explorer Proxy Settings and Reset TCP/IPIt is very important that these steps be carried out exactly as shown otherwise the fix will not work.If you have any questions please ask before moving on.Please start Notepad and using your mouse make sure you select and copy all the information below in the Code box into your new document. Then save the file as "fixme.bat" to your Desktop - The .bat extension is importantIn the drop down box for Save as type: make sure you select All Files (*.*) and keep the quotes on the name as well. Then close the new file.@ECHO OFFreg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer /freg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyOverride /freg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /freg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v GlobalUserOffline /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /fnetsh int ip reset resetlog.txtOn Windows XP you can double-click the file to run it. On Vista/Win7 you need to Right click the file and choose Run as administrator to run it. With User Account Control on it should ask permission to run it. Click YesThis will flash a black DOS box very quickly and go away, this is normal. Restart your computer now.Launch Internet Explorer and see if you can connect to the Internet.Launch MBAM and check for UpdatesSTEP 03Ping the Content Delivery NetworkFor Windows Vista or Windows 7:Click on START and in the search line type in CMD and you should see cmd.exe show on the menu. exile360 Posted April 30, 2010 ID:241982 Share Posted April 30, 2010 Greetings and welcome to Malwarebytes Are you getting Error Code 732 with the current version or is the error different with versions 1.45 and 1.46? The reason I ask is because the format of the error codes was changed in the versions since 1.44.As for the actual issue itself, are you using the other features in CIS (ie the antivirus and Defense+ components)? If so, then please try the following to see if it is helpful:Exclude/trust the following files in your antivirus and firewall:For Windows Vista or Windows 7:C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exeC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exeC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exeC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dllC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dllC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dllC:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.refC:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sysC:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sysFor 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dllC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dllC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dllC:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.refC:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sysC:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sysAlso, if Comodo has any type of web filter component or browser protection, then access its settings and add the following site as allowed or trusted:data-cdn.mbamupdates.comPlease let me know how it goes. Thanks
