thermosoflask Posted April 29, 2010 ID:241486 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Hi been using malwarebytes on my pc, windows xp for over a year, free version, last 3 nights i keep getting this error message when i try to start up malwarebytes. mbam_error_load_database (o, o).i've uninstalled and reinstalled and it works fine updates and everything, then when i boot up the next day i get the same message and it wont work. any help please oh im a novice not techy minded. many thanks John. marktreg Posted April 29, 2010 ID:241525 Share Posted April 29, 2010 Please try the following to see if it helps:You will need to follow these instructions carefully, with particular attention to the part at the end about setting file exclusions etc. Windows XP:Click on Start and select Control PanelOpen Add/Remove ProgramsUninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareRestart your computer very importantDownload and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very importantAfter the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from hereNote: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro versionLaunch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. marktreg Posted May 8, 2010 ID:246927 Share Posted May 8, 2010 Please do the following to see if it fixes the issue:Run a Disk Check on your C: drive in Windows XP:Click Start and open My ComputerRight-click on C: and select PropertiesClick on the Tools tabUnder Error-checking click the Check Now... buttonMark the box next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectorsWhen the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and restart your computerOnce your computer restarts it will check the drive, don't press any keys so that it is allowed to do so.When the disk check is finished, please follow the directions again in post #2 above.Let me know how you get on.
