trojan simulator and eicar test

Recently I downloaded the Eicar Test and Trojan simulator.

I disabled my Avira guard in order to get the download.

I then tested both execs while still in their Zip folders with the "right click scan"

of malwarebytes antimale ware.

no detection.

I then opened and instaled Trojan simulator,and ran a fast scan with Malwarebytes antimalware..

no detection.

I then ran a full scan.

no detection.

I really didnt expect it to alert on Eicar (although A-Squared free did) but should it not have picked up the trojan simulator?

I use Windows Xp service pack 3,Avira anti-vir,Kerio 5.1.2 firewall,A-squared free,Malwarebytes anti-malware version 1.14
