License questions.

Recommended Posts

1. Multi-boot systems. Most of my machines are dual boot or more. Like XP, Vista and Ubuntu on this one for example. Can I run the same license in each OS on the same machine?

2. Reusing a license. I'm an authorized MBAM reseller, have sold about 250 licenses so far. Eventually some client's hard drive is going to die while their MBAM license is active. Is there anything I need to do before using the same license on their new hard drive/replacement PC?

Thanks!

Greetings FramePC :)

  1. The license is for use on one machine only, but not just one OS so you can use it on multiple operating systems on the same machine.
  2. If the system will run then you should follow, or have your clients follow, the following procedure:

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start vista-7-start.png button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
I'm talking about when the system won't run, when the hard drive is dead and you have to install a new hard drive for them and have no way of uninstalling or deactivating their license.

No, just enter their ID/KEY on the new system as long as it is not in current use on another system.

I also am running dual boot. VISTA and XP

I would like to activate the program in Vista.

Do I have to uninstall and reinstall like listed above? I already activated the account in XP.
